15% Of All Surplus Revenue Is Reinvested Into Programs That Support Veterans And Their Families.

About Us

Veteran Excellence is more than a magazine — it’s a movement. Our mission is to highlight the leadership, innovation, and achievements of veterans and military-connected families through professional journalism and authentic storytelling. Every feature is designed to inform, inspire, and give veterans the recognition they deserve.

Founded by journalist Camille D. Ford, Veteran Excellence was created as a platform where veterans can be seen and valued beyond their titles or uniforms. With a background in storytelling and a commitment to truth, Camille built this publication to showcase resilience, celebrate excellence, and elevate the voices shaping our communities.

Our editorial team works closely with contributors, families, and partners to ensure every story is accurate, meaningful, and presented with respect. From spotlighting groundbreaking entrepreneurs and artists to documenting lived experiences, we are committed to amplifying voices that often go unheard while reinforcing the excellence at the core of veteran life.

Veteran Excellence combines investigative journalism with cultural recognition – telling stories that rarely make national headlines but carry deep impact. Every feature is hand-picked from a national outreach database and aligned with observances such as Veterans Day, Black History Month, PTSD Awareness Month, and Juneteenth.

By publishing these narratives, Veteran Excellence serves as both a recognition tool and an educational resource. It documents sacrifice, resilience, innovation, and leadership, while also shaping how communities understand the true breadth of veteran experience. From the battlefield to the classroom, from advocacy to entrepreneurship, Veteran Excellence ensures that the contributions of those who serve – and those who support them – are never overlooked.

This isn’t just our story — it’s yours too. By reading, contributing, and sharing, you join a growing community that is building a legacy of excellence, one story at a time.

Impact & Why It Matters

Veteran Excellence exists to close the visibility gap around the full spectrum of military and veteran experiences. Too often, veterans are only recognized for their service years — while their leadership, creativity, and solutions in business, healthcare, education, and community life go unseen. This lack of recognition limits opportunities, reduces access to resources, and allows damaging stereotypes to persist.

By publishing high-quality, accessible storytelling, Veteran Excellence changes that narrative. Each story is both a recognition tool and a bridge — helping veterans gain career advancement, community visibility, and professional credibility, while educating the public about the contributions of those who served and their families.

At its core, our work is a reminder that veterans’ affairs are everyone’s affairs. When we honor, invest in, and uplift those who have served, entire communities grow stronger.

Our 15% Commitment: Why We Reinvest

Recognition without action is just publicity — we’re building something more substantial. That’s why Veteran Excellence dedicates 15% of all revenue to direct support and opportunity programs for veterans and their families. Every story we tell is paired with action, ensuring that recognition translates into immediate resources, stronger communities, and lasting impact.
